Senior Equipment Operator - Streets Division
TOWN OF FRONT ROYAL, VIRGINIA
The SENIOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR is responsible for the operation of trucks and equipment in the construction, repair and maintenance of streets and related functions with the Public Works Department. Employee operates various equipment including motor grader, back-hoe, front-end loader, bob-cat, dump truck, tar truck and other heavy equipment. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of operating and servicing heavy trucks and related construction equipment; thorough knowledge of the traffic laws and regulations governing equipment operation; general knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and the safety precautions necessary to the proper operation of varied construction and maintenance equipment. Ability to act as the lead worker directing the activities of employees in lower grades. Class B CDL required; Class A with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements within 3 months of accepting position. Starting pay rate is $16.91 hr. depending on experience or qualifications.
